Research
The IFP’s research programme is designed to overcome the technology barriers which are preventing the successful exploitation of imaging and vision. This includes both underpinning generic research (into robustness of algorithms in real-world situations, for example) and pathfinder applications in areas such as the creative media. The Partnership has particular strengths in 3D imaging and generation of 3D content, and in scientific imaging.
Many organisations contribute to the IFP’s portfolio of research and the Partnership is always open to new participants. Currently the Partnership is building project teams is anticipation of the new European Framework Programme, and on a UK basis, is looking to progress work at the convergence of graphics and computer vision. |
