Skills Development

For imaging to be exploited widely, it is clear that there is a need to ensure the relevant skills are also widely available. The IFP is working to develop skills at post-graduate level using Industrial CASE and TCS mechanisms, and for established technologists through the provision of short courses. The IFP is also involved in curricula development at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The IFP also recognizes that not all training needs to be carried out in formal taught courses. Transfer of knowledge can also be effectively carried out by transfer of people. The IFP therefore encourages mobility of researchers between institutions and between industry and academe by use of fellowships and collaborative projects.
